Any other oppos that have a later gen Subaru Outback have issues with the driver seat squeaking? Mine started about a month ago and has gotten progressively worse. Like any sort of movement of me or the car will cause it to squeak. The car only has 7700 miles on it.

Did a quick search of the forums and it seems to be a common issue. I was just curious if anyone here had a similar issue and what was done to fix it.

I suggest spraying a heavy application of WD-40 all over the seat.

Seriously tho,  I’ve had issues with my outback but the seat never squeaks.

I had a C aravan come in with a complaint of a squeaky seat once. The front anchor bolts were  loose.

I would take out the seat and see if you can find the squeaky spring underneath. Might luck out and solve it yourself.

Our Forester has an annoying rattle that only I can hear. I figured out it is the end of the  headlight switch on the indicator arm vibrating. If I hold it steady the noise stops.. I’m tempted to either graphite lube it of crazy glue it in the on position.

Yep. Same on my 2018 Limited 2.5 with 16k on it. Been doing it for about 7k miles. I’d get it fixed but the last time I went to the dealer for a warranty issue it was such a disaster that I thought about burning the car to the ground in their parking lot  just to spite them.

If the driver’s seat is the onl y thing squeaking, consider yourself lucky. I once had a WRX whose clutch pedal squeaked...because a weld on the goddamn firewall failed. That was a fun one to fix.

Squeaks an d rattles: they’re what make a Subaru, a Subaru

I think the solution is a louder exhaust.

Yes, I think this is a pretty common thing. There are widespread failures of the bracket that the seat bolts into - it is covered by warranty but you have to take it in to service and then let them order the part and then take it back to get the repair done. Many have reported that their seats started squeaking again after having it serviced, so I am waiting to see whether mine starts up again. They also handled the fuel gauge and radio recall fixes when it took it in (my 2018 3.6R limited ran out of gas in an intersection in the middle of LA during rush hour with more than 1/8 of a tank still showing on the gauge, and the radio has been super buggy, so these were both badly needed fixes). Mechanically, I think the car is great, but the tech issues and the interior fit and finish have been a real let down.

thanks! I’m due for an oil change in just over 1k miles so i’ve been holding off getting all that stuff fixed until then.
